Otis Elevator Co. celebrated Father’s Day in a recent post on their website by honoring three father-son pairs who work together in the South Carolina and Savannah divisions of the company. The article interviewed the fathers as they shared how their sons followed in their footsteps and began working in the vertical-transportation (VT) industry. Each family’s story varied greatly from the others, showing that there are many paths to the VT industry. Whether going into the industry was always the goal or they got there by chance, working in the “family business” alongside their fathers is something that each son is proud of.
Emil Colin Senior best described being a dad, saying, “It’s life changing. Everyone tells you it’s going to change your life, but when it happens, it’s indescribable.”
