A dog from Uniontown, Pennsylvania, recently received national attention on the ABC show “America’s Funniest Home Videos.” Five-year-old Reggie’s owners, Dennis and Judy Krivacek of North Strabane Township, captured a video of their pup riding the stairlift leading from the first floor to the second floor of the family’s home.

The Krivaceks said that Reggie’s rides started when he was a puppy after they installed a stairlift for Judy’s mother. One day, Reggie jumped onto the stairlift, and Dennis gave him a ride. That’s all it took for Reggie to become “obsessed” with riding.

On a whim, the Krivaceks took a video of their dog’s unusual hobby and, after being encouraged by friends, submitted it to the show. “America’s Funniest Home Videos” got in touch with the couple to let them know that Reggie had been selected as one of three finalists for the May 5 episode and would win either US$4,000, US$6,000 or US$20,000, depending on where he places.

The Krivaceks hosted a viewing party for at least 40 friends and family members, who celebrated together as Reggie won the grand prize of US$20,000.
