TK Elevator (TKE) delivered 89 elevators and 37 escalators to Galataport Istanbul, a cruise port terminal that incorporates restaurants, shops and office space on the European shore of the Bosporus Strait. To meet the requirements of the waterfront location, machine-room-less and hydraulic elevators with flexible and customized dimensions, including reduced shaft head and reduced pit conditions, were provided. The elevators also feature energy-efficient motor drives, and cabins are able to incorporate camera systems and access points for uninterrupted internet service. TKE also implemented a monitoring system that operates in sync with the building’s automation system to check availability of all units at a glance, enabling qualified personnel to instantly respond to unexpected downtimes 365 days a year. One of the most important infrastructure projects in Turkey, Galataport Istanbul is expected to welcome approximately 125 million annual visitors.
