The Liverpool Council approved Peel and Your Housing Group’s plan for 278 homes in 31- and 11-story towers on William Jessop Way on the waterfront in Liverpool, U.K., the Liverpool Echo reports. The city-center site was once intended for Shanghai Tower, which, at 50 stories, would have been part of the huge Liverpool Waters masterplan and the tallest building in Northwest England. Now, in addition to the towers on William Jessop, Romal Capital plans to build another approximately 300 apartments on nearby Waterloo Dock in towers between four and nine stories tall.
