TK Elevator (TKE) announced completion of a 31-elevator system serving Midtown Union in Atlanta, a development that includes an office tower, the Mira at Midtown residential tower and the Kimpton Midtown Atlanta Hotel. Developed by MetLife Investment Management and Granite Properties, the Class-AA, 26-story office tower features a vertical-transportation (VT) system outfitted with the latest touchless and digital technologies, including TKE’s AGILE destination-dispatch and AGILE mobile, which eases traffic flow by allowing passengers to call elevators from their mobile devices. Office tower elevators feature regenerative drive technology, which puts energy back into the building “in line with Granite Properties’ mission to create the most sustainable buildings possible.” VT at all three towers will be connected to TKE’s MAX IoT predictive-maintenance system. The residential building is being developed by MetLife and StreetLights Residential, and the hotel by MetLife and AMS Hospitality. Spanning nearly three city blocks, the development was designed by Cooper Carry and began construction in 2019, with Brasfield & Gorrie as general contractor. Delivery is anticipated in the third quarter of this year.
