Queensland Investment Corp. has submitted a development application for a new landmark tower at 101 Albert Street, Brisbane City, Australia, reports BrisbaneDevelopment.com. Designed by Architectus and Henning Larsen, “Rainforest Tower” will provide a “substantial public realm through an active and permeable ground floor plane” to enhance the pedestrian experience on Albert Street. The development is both commercial-led and mixed-use, providing public seating areas, office space and retail and dining opportunities. The 40-story tower will include 16 elevators. Ground-floor and level-one retail spaces and outdoor dining zones will be connected by escalators. With sustainability initiatives such as green covering and rainwater harvesting, the project is targeting a 5-star rating from Green Star.
