45-Story Condo Tower To Wrap Around Irish Pub In Toronto
Developer Madison Group tapped Teeple Architects and Turner Fleischer Architects to design a gold, brick and metallic 45-story condominium tower that will wrap around the “beloved” McVeigh’s Irish Pub in Toronto’s Garden District, STOREYS is among outlets to report. Interiors of the 475 condos will be designed by Studio Munge, and the property will also have 18,000 ft2 of retail, including 7,000 ft2 of ground-level retail at Church and Richmond streets. Madison Group Vice President of High Rise Josh Zagdanski described the tower, called Alias, as “a blazing beacon of rock & roll attitude meets edgy sophistication.” The site was also home to a nightclub that was a staple for the local LGBTQ community, Club120, which closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and was demolished in 2021. No construction timeframe was provided.
