Acquisition Expands Schindler Canada’s Atlantic Region Presence

Schindler Elevator Corp. (Canada) has acquired Ascension Elevating Devices Ltd. (AED), based near Saint John, New Brunswick, expanding Schindler Canada’s presence in the country’s Atlantic region and laying the groundwork for future growth, Schindler Canada announced on June 13. AED focuses on elevator modernization, service and repair in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. The company was founded in 2010 by David McKenzie, and he and other members of the AED team will join Schindler. Observing that Schindler Canada’s values, integrity and trust align with AED’s, McKenzie said his company is eager to offer “top-of-the-line, non-proprietary equipment to expand our product and service offerings.” Welcoming AED employees to the team, Schindler Canada President Lisa Konnry said her company is “very excited to now be positioned to offer our products and services to our existing and national customers, coast to coast.”
