Alimak, a designer and provider of elevators and related equipment for industrial and construction sites, is introducing a new series, the company announces. The all-new Alimak SL-H is a passenger and freight elevator suitable for tough operating environments, including cement plants, power stations, ports, shipyards, steelworks, mines, manufacturing, storage and logistics facilities. This new product provides an industrial elevator range in three sizes and offers payload capacities from 1000 kg to 3000 kg. The new system uses rack and pinion technology with the elevator drive mounted on top of the unit’s car. This technology enables the car to climb up and down the mast at a controlled speed, without the need for a shaft or machine room. Constructed from aluminum and hot-dipped galvanized steel, the robust design minimizes downtime and operating costs, while withstanding extreme operational and environmental challenges. Alimak SL-H optimizes for comfort, and the drive unit provides smooth acceleration and deceleration leveling at landings, irrespective of load. In addition, the elevators are push-button operated from the car and landings via a modern collective touch screen control system. An available unique dual solution allows the feature of two independent elevator cars operating on a single guide mast column, reducing material costs.
