Alpacas and Owners Rescued from Illinois Elevator

Two alpacas were rescued from an Illinois elevator.

Two alpacas from Rolling Oak Alpaca Ranch in Makanda, Illinois, and their owners —mother and daughter duo Judy and Morgan — got stuck in an elevator in Carbondale, Illinois, after starring in a segment for the SPIEL TV Show, WPSD Local 6 was among outlets to report. Footage was shared from inside the elevator, where everything seemed to be going pretty smoothly despite the close quarters. The City of Carbondale Police Department arrived quickly to assist, and all four were released safely. Unfortunately for staff members and emergency officials, alpacas aren’t accustomed to stairs — meaning each one had to be carried down two flights of stairs before exiting the building.
