Architects’ Journal Small Projects Award Program Open for Entries

Now in its 28th year, the annual Architects’ Journal (AJ) Small Projects Award, run in association with Marley, is now open for entries. The award program celebrates completed projects with a contract value of £350,000 (US$426,871) and under in the U.K. Since it was first launched in 1996, the award’s intention has remained the same: to give much-deserved recognition to schemes realized at a more modest cost. From home extensions to workspaces, restaurants to shop fit-outs, pavilions to small houses, architects across the U.K. are busy working on projects that may not make headlines but nevertheless show the country’s depth of design talent. Every project entered for the award will appear in the AJ Buildings Library while the 20 shortlisted projects will be published in a special print issue of the AJ in April 2023. The architects behind the shortlisted schemes will then present their schemes in front of a jury as part of a live-judging session. The deadline for entries is January 27 and entry for AJ Small Projects is £80 (US$98).
