Baltimore-Based Monumental Supply Changes Hands

Monumental Supply Co. Inc., a Baltimore, Maryland-based business specializing in the distribution of products including a range of elevator supplies in Baltimore, the Mid-Atlantic and the East Coast areas, has been acquired by Phoenix, Arizona-based Venturi Supply, Tower Partners, which facilitated the deal, announced on April 30. Founded in 1950 by Robert Kirchner, Monumental is now in its second generation of leadership. Its 40 employees and executive team remain in place. Tower Partners founder and CEO Ervin M. Terwilliger said more than 100 parties expressed interest in Monumental, and he and his team were able to close the deal within three months of initial conversations with potential buyers. Tower Partners Head of M&A and Managing Director Erik Endler observed Tower was able to deliver on Monumental’s desire for “confidentiality, brand legacy, employee retention and value maximization.” Among Monumental’s elevator products are pit switches, hoist equipment, hatch products, rail products, ball valves and electrical conduits.
