A car elevator malfunctioned at Ferrari of Palm Beach, requiring assistance from Palm Beach County Fire Rescue (PBCFR) and Kauff’s Transportation Systems for four hours on January 31, WPTV reports. Units were dispatched to the dealership due to reports of a fire, but there was no fire. Instead, a car elevator malfunctioned while moving a vehicle, and the car became stuck in the hoistway, which caused a fuel leak. Using the full 45-ft extension of Kauff’s new rotator wrecker’s boom and several 50,000-lb rated winches, personnel were able to remove the vehicle from the hoistway without additional damage to the building or any other vehicles. No injuries were reported.
