CECA, TSSA to Present Townhall, Central Region Meeting

The Canadian Elevator Contractors Association (CECA) and Ontario’s Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) will preside over the CECA-TSSA Townhall and the CECA CR (Central Region) Meeting, beginning at 1 p.m. Eastern Time on November 11, the organizations have announced. Focus of the townhall will be discussion of TSSA’s publication of its Code Adoption Document (CAD), which is adopted by reference in O. Reg. 209/01 (Elevating Devices). CAD brings a series of national safety codes into regulation, with 13 separate codes within CAD. Interested parties are encouraged to offer feedback on Elevating Devices CAD amendments, which will be accepted until November 11. One month later, CAD will be published, with the document taking effect within 60 days of that. To offer feedback, visit the TSSA website. Central Region Chair Paul Pettener and CECA Executive Director Catharine Bothwell have discussed townhall topics and updates with TSSA’s Roger Neate, such as an update on exam scheduling, advisory committee restructuring and more. To join the virtual townhall, register on the CECA website. The CECA CR meeting will follow the townhall almost immediately, and requires a separate sign-up; to take part in the meeting, register here. Those who would like to see specific issues or concerns raised during the meeting should email Bothwell by October 26.
