Child Pinned in Atlanta Elevator Shaft Rescued by AFRD

On February 2, responders with the Atlanta Fire and Rescue Department (AFRD) rescued a 2-year-old child who fell two stories down an elevator shaft and became pinned upside down between the wall and the elevator car, FOX 5 Atlanta is among outlets to report. The incident happened in the early evening hours at a home in northeast Atlanta, where firefighters shut off power to the elevator, breached the wall and extracted the child. The child suffered minor injuries and was transferred to a local hospital.
