CiA To Host Online CAN and CANopen Seminars in June

The Germany-based nonprofit CAN in Automation (CiA) association plans to host online seminars on June 18 and 19 from 1-5 p.m. UTC on Control Area Network (CAN) technology, which is widely used in automotive and industrial applications and is the basis for communicating with CANopen and DeviceNet protocols. On June 18, introduction to the physical layer, data link layer and higher-layer protocols of CAN CC (classic) and CAN FD, as well as the future of CAN, will be presented. On July 19, lower layers, device architecture, protocols and profiles for CANopen CC and CANopen FD will be the topics, along with insight into the future of CANopen. CANopen Lift, the CAN communication platform for elevator control systems, is currently based on CAN CC, the first generation of CAN protocol. Anyone wishing to register for these seminars may do so via email.
