Construction on a 34-story residential tower in NYC’s Midtown East has surpassed its halfway height, New York YIMBY reports. Known as 131-141 East 47th Street, the tower is expected to stand 500 ft and yield 200 apartments. Designed by Ismael Leyva Architects and developed by Silverback Development, the units will range from studios to two bedrooms. The project is also expected to have 5,000 ft2 of ground-floor retail space. Silverback was brought onto the project by Hopson Development Holdings, which purchased the rectangular parcel for US$115 million in December 2019. Structure Tech New York and Cauldwell Wingate are in charge of building. Façade work is expected to begin shortly, and tower height is expected to complete sometime in the spring. Construction completion is expected sometime in 2023.
