Cooper Named VP of CIBSE

David Cooper, CEO of London-headquartered vertical-transportation (VT) consultancy LECS UK, has been named vice president (VP) of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE), LECS UK recently announced. A longstanding contributor to CIBSE’s Guide D and other CIBSE publications, Cooper has been on the board of CIBSE since 2020. He officially took the VP office on June 13, observing he has been “a keen member of the body for over 30 years” and looks forward to helping it reach its goals. Cooper’s more than 40-year career includes serving as an expert VT witness in numerous legal cases involving risk, accidents and injury. He is a key advisor to governments and has also advised on the US$40 million renovation of the Armenian Marriott Hotel in Yerevan and the development of Queensway Quay in Gibraltar. The multiple-award-winning Cooper is the author of key books on VT, and maintains a keen interest in R&D as a visiting professor at the University of Northampton.
