CTBUH Announces Keynote Speakers for Americas Conference

The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) announced that David Gottfried, chief global impact officer at Blue Planet Systems, and Kate Simonen, founding director of the Carbon Leadership Forum, will keynote the upcoming CTBUH 2023 Americas Conference, Green(er) Capital: Investing in a Sustainable Urban Future, taking place on May 11-12 in Seattle, Washington. Gottfried is the author of Explosion Green (2014) and founded the U.S. Green Building Council in 1993 and the World Green Building Council in 1998. His conference-opening presentation will be “Building a Movement to Regenerate and Prosper,” which will provide keen insights into educating, organizing and persevering in the name of planetary preservation. In Simonen’s afternoon keynote “Climate Smart Building—A Call to Action,” she’ll share a vision for a future when we store more carbon in long-life buildings and infrastructure than is emitted over their life cycle. In tandem with the launch of three regional “Hubs” across the CTBUH Network — CTBUH Americas, CTBUH Europe and CTBUH Asia — this event represents the official launch of CTBUH Americas and will bring together leaders and CTBUH members in the region for a full day of conference sessions and a networking reception on May 11, followed by offsite tours and a leaders lunch/meeting on May 12. Early bird pricing for the event ends on April 18.
