Preparations for demolition on 266 West 96th Street in New York City are underway, New York YIMBY reported in June. Three low-rise structures are slated for demolition and in their place will be a 23-story residential building yielding 171 apartments. Of these, 91 will be regular-sized homes and 80 of them will be micro-units ranging from 290 to 340 ft2. The project calls for 68 of the apartments tobe allocated toward permanent affordable housing. All residents will have access to free amenities. The building is being developed by Fetner Properties. A construction start date has not yet been announced.
