DeSimone Consulting Engineering, headquartered in NYC, announced on April 2 it acquired San Francisco-based KP Elevator Consulting, part of an ongoing strategy to broaden its multi-service platform. The acquisition will enable DeSimone to offer a full range of vertical-transportation (VT) consulting services from due diligence and concept development to final construction of VT solutions for new, renovated and converted buildings. Going forward, KP will operate under the DeSimone banner out of the existing San Francsico office. KP Elevator Consulting founder Kelly Houlihan, a Qualified Elevator Inspector and 37-year industry veteran, will lead DeSimone’s new VT team as a firm principal. Under Houlihan’s leadership, KP Elevator Consulting has delivered complex VT projects for industry leaders such as the Space Needle in Seattle, Greystar, Hines, Tishman Speyer, the Federal Reserve and The Orden Co.
