KONE announced on April 3 it won an order to provide at least 84 escalators for five suburban stations on line 15 West of the Grand Paris Express Metro network. Driven by Société des grands projects, line 15 will span 14 municipalities, forming a ring around Paris. KONE will equip the six-story La Défense Station — situated in Europe’s largest business district and accommodating up to 160,000 daily riders — with 40 escalators. At Saint-Cloud Station, which sees approximately 85,000 daily riders, KONE will provide 44 escalators. Other stations to be equipped include Nanterre La Folie, Nanterre La Boule and Rueil-Suresnes Mont-Valérien. KONE Executive Vice President Europe Karla Lindahl said the escalators will help passengers in the Île-de-France region “enjoy a seamless, efficient commute.”
