Doha Festival City Introduces Touchless Elevators

Doha Festival City, the largest operating mall in Doha, Qatar, has partnered with Schindler to provide touchless technology to 32 elevators, The Peninsula reported on October 5. The technology will help reduce the risk of infection from elevator buttons, and includes a touchless control panel with a remote sensing unit that enables users to select their desired floor by waving a finger across the panel. Schindler designed and manufactured the technology. Doha Festival City General Manager Robert Hall, said, “In these unprecedented times, we are delighted to introduce new touchless elevators across Doha Festival City…we will continue to introduce new solutions to deliver the safest and the smoothest shopping experience for all our customers.”
