Elevator and Escalator Technical Problems at Bangladesh Metrorail Station Fixed

Over last few days, passengers of Dhaka Metrorail in the capital city of Bangladesh, especially senior citizens and people with mobility issues, have been facing massive disruptions to travel due to the suspension of elevator and escalator operation caused by technical problems, the Daily Observer reports. The station has also been experiencing travel complications due to a ticket crisis in which only single-journey tickets have been available for purchase, causing some of the gates to be kept closed due to the additional pressures. Dhaka Mass-Rapid Transit Company Ltd. (DMTCL) Managing Director Md Abdur Rauf said that the elevators and escalators have been repaired and made functional and all gates of the stations are now open to the passengers for smooth travel.
