Elevator Rescue Training For The Firefighters In Kocaeli

Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Department of Fire Brigade Prevention and Education Branch Directorate Education Unit (KOBİTEM) in Turkey provided elevator rescue training for firefighters. KOBITEM, which provides vocational training for firefighters from all over the country and abroad and carries out training and awareness activities for the public and private sector and all citizens, also increased its in-house training in order to provide higher quality and up-to-date training services. Technical Elevator Rescue Training was held for the trainers of the Fire Brigade Training Unit, in cooperation with Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Fire Brigade Department, Prevention and Training Branch Directorate, and the Building Inspection Department, Energy, Lighting and Mechanical Operations Branch Directorate. The training covered theoretical information on elevator systems, elevator safety systems, operation principles, emergency policies and other relevant issues. The trainees also practiced how to take action in the case of being trapped in different types of elevators.
