Elevator Service in NYCHA Developments Disrupted by Power Surge
Elevator service in dozens of NYC Housing Authority (NYCHA) developments across the city was disrupted by, according to city officials, a power surge on June 25, PIX11News reports. Six developments on the Upper East Side and East Harlem were impacted after 9 p.m. The Executive Vice President of Operations Support Services at NYCHA Keith Grossman told PIX11 News that starting on June 23, there were a number of voltage reductions. More than 50 NYCHA developments’ elevator services were impacted. Elevator disruptions occurred at Stanley Isaac’s and Holmes Towers, Carver Houses, Washington Houses, Wilson Houses, Metro North Houses and the East River Houses. Grossman said NYCHA immediately sent elevator mechanic teams and stair climbers to help.
