ESI Acquires Grand Rapids-Based Van Duinen Elevator

With financial backing from Carroll Capital, Elevator Service Inc. (ESI) has acquired Van Duinen Elevator Co., a provider since 1972 of elevator maintenance, repair and modernization based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Marking ESI’s third acquisition in the past six months, the move strengthens ESI’s position in the southern Grand Rapids and lakeshore regions, where Van Duinen has a strong base of longtime commercial and industrial clients. Van Duinen owner Larry Burns will be joining the ESI management team. Carroll Capital described the acquisition as “both highly strategic and synergistic given its close proximity to ESI,” which now operates in five markets: Grand Rapids; Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Toledo, Ohio; Detroit; and Columbus, Ohio.
