Excavation for the Stak Site, a 36-story tower under development by Lincoln Property and Behring Co. at 1900 Broadway in Downtown Oakland, California, is well underway, San Francisco YIMBY reported on April 13. At full buildout, the Stak Site and the adjoining Tapscott Building will add retail and 452 new apartments to the Bay Area housing market. The 395-ft-tall, 472,470 ft2 tower will include 6,680 ft2 of ground-level retail and 226 parking spaces. The majority of the units will be one- or two-bedroom, with some studios and a handful of three- and four-bedroom units. Design is by Solomon Cordwell Buenz. 1900 Broadway will be capped with a 2,200-ft2 sky lounge, while the adaptively reused Tapscott building rooftop will become its own amenity space with a deck, pool and lounging area. No construction timeline was reported, but the source said Stak Site could open between 2023 and 2024.
