Exterior Venue Site Getting New Elevator Installed
Designers are nearing completion of a high-capacity elevator being built at the Medora Musical outdoor venue in Medora, North Dakota, The Bismarck Tribune reported in early April. The US$2.15 million project, set at the Burning Hills Amphitheatre, is being designed to carry hundreds of people in and out of the show each night. It also will help emergency responders. The elevator is a project of Access Medora, a design for upgrades with the Americans with Disabilities Act. The 2,800-seat Burning Hills Amphitheatre already has an elevator and a golf cart shuttle, but the elevator is small-capacity and the shuttle must maneuver around pedestrians. The venue also has an escalator. Construction of the new, larger elevator has been set to complete in June, in time for the opening of the theater’s performances.
