The installation of brick façade is progressing on 223 West 46th Street, a 20-story Marriott SpringHill hotel in NYC’s Times Square, New York YIMBY reported on August 22. When complete, the tower will have 70,000 ft2 of space and hold 200 guest rooms. The building’s reinforced concrete superstructure has topped out, and the brick façade and window grid are rising. The bottom half of the tower is enclosed in light-colored brick with darker brick making lines that create borders around the windows. The building was at one time expected to stand 34 stories but has ended up being somewhat shorter. The building is under development by McSam Hotel Group, and the general contractor is Zhong Wang Construction Services Inc. Design is by Gene Kaufman Architects. Completion is expected this winter.
