A man has been taken in for questioning after the death of a six-year-old at a hospital in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, Riviera Maya News reports. The girl died after becoming partially stuck in a moving elevator. According to preliminary information, the child was placed on a stretcher and walked onto an elevator with hospital staff. When the elevator began to go up, the door was still open and only half of the stretcher with the girl was inside. Both were crushed by the elevator. The hospital released a statement saying authorities were immediately notified of the accident and that maintenance of the elevator is the responsibility of an outside company. The attorney general of Quintana Roo, Mexico, opened an investigation into the incident and detained a male person for questioning, according to the source.
