FDNY Rescues Five Stuck in Elevator During Power Outage

New York City Fire Department (FDNY) firefighters rescued five Metro North Railroad employees who got stuck in an elevator that was in mid-lift when the power suddenly went out at Grand Central Terminal in Midtown Manhattan on September 25 at approximately 8:30 p.m., outlets including the New York Post report.  A drop in voltage to the feeder network resulted in lights going out throughout the upper and lower portions of the iconic terminal, according to the NYC Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA). Despite initial chaos, with people screaming and police telling people to get off the tracks, power was restored to the upper level at 8:53 p.m. and the lower level at 9:17 p.m., according to the MTA. No injuries were reported.
