Miami-Dade commissioners have approved spending US$41.8 million to improve the Dadeland North Metrorail Station parking garage area, which will include the installation of more elevators, Miami Today reports. The contract was awarded to Magnum Construction Management of Cutler Bay. The project is expected to take approximately three and a half years and includes installation of two new elevators on the northern end of the garage and modernization of the four existing elevators in the central elevator lobby. Modernizing the four existing elevators, the report said, would “include changes to the controls, elevator machine room equipment and cab renovations, and modern ‘learning’ elevator technology.” The project is part of the People’s Transportation Plan Bond Program’s 2024-2028 five-year plan.
