Foundation Work Underway for Moscow-Designed NYC Supertall

262 Fifth Avenue, designed by Moscow-based Meganom

Foundation work continues to make way for a striking 1,043-ft-tall, 60-story residential supertall designed by Moscow-based Meganom with SLCE Architects as executive architect at 262 Fifth Avenue in NoMad, Manhattan, NYC, New York YIMBY reports. Developed by Boris Kuzinez of Five Points Development, the slender tower will contain 41 residential units and 10,850 ft2 of retail on the lower floors. CM & Associates is general contractor, and the elevator consultant is VDA. In August, crews were laying rebar for the “imminent formation of the first set of floors.” Given the rapid pace of construction, the tower could go vertical by the end of the year. The structure’s most notable architectural feature is a series of circular porthole-like windows on the eastern elevation. The north and southern elevations are mostly composed of floor-to-ceiling windows, and the western elevation will likely remain plain, as it will house elevators and mechanical systems. Likely completion is anticipated in 2024.
