After months of renovation, Deutsche Bahn, the national railway company of Germany, says that its station elevator in Erfurt on platforms 9 and 10 will be operational again by the end of May, Breaking Latest News reports. According to Deutsche Bahn, the elevator closed for repair work on January 9. After this, the source reports that “the only elevator on the large central platform with tracks three to eight will be taken out of service and replaced.” This work is scheduled to last until September 2023. According to Deutsche Bahn, an additional service provider, who operates the stairclimber and can help travelers with luggage or a stroller, is available in Erfurt’s main train station every day during the early and late service. Additionally, the source reports there were two serious escalator accidents during the elevator repair work.
