Hotel/Residential Tower Planned in Greengate, Salford
U.K. architects BDP have put forth a proposal for a 36-story red tower in Greengate, Salford, Architects’ Journal reported on April 20. Bringing co-living spaces and a hotel, the tower’s planning application also asks to convert eight railway arches into café and bar spaces. The first 10 floors of the tower would be dedicated to the 171-room hotel that would include a reception, lounge and restaurant. The upper 24 stories of the building would contain 485 build-to-rent co-living rooms, clustered around 135 apartments, with a residents’ roof terrace on the 32nd story. Developer Progressive Living Developments PLD hopes to start on the site toward the end of this year, with completion targeted for the second quarter of 2023.
