Hotel Staff Member Killed in Elevator Incident in India

An employee of a five-star hotel in Sector 17 in Chandigarh, India, died after an elevator allegedly malfunctioned on the property, The Times of India reports. The employee was washing a mirror next to a glass elevator in the reception area but then entered the lift on the ground floor. When the elevator started moving, he was trapped. Other hotel personnel pulled him out of the elevator, and he was taken to a clinic, where he was declared dead. According to the source, police have registered a case against an unknown person, citing negligent conduct with respect to machinery and death caused due to negligence. The incident is under further investigation.
