Italian elevator designer IGV Group will show off its new DomusLift platform featuring a technology that helps users access their desired floor even if suffering from disabilities, such as vision problems or blindness, the company announced. DomusLift, designed in collaboration with IGV technical partner Sunell Italia Stark Solution, offers the first IGV lift equipped with a biometric system that specializes in integration of solutions for video surveillance and facial recognition. Biometric technologies are being used more and more as an accurate, fast and secure means of authentication. The facial recognition system allows identified users to select floors according to specific customer requirements in either public or private spaces. Using sensors that operate as real “digital eyes,” DomusLift can detect faces, even from minimal portions or if the subject is moving. This facial recognition system can identify users suffering from disabilities, such as poor vision or blindness. IGV will show the DomusLift platform at the Sicurezza 2021 expo event in Milan, Italy, through November.
