Concept images for a new landmark in Southport, U.K., named The Tower of Hope have been released, LancsLive reports. The 48-story tower standing at 178 m is designed to be one of the tallest towers in the north of England and will be seen for miles across Lancashire. It would also be one of the tallest buildings outside of London. The tower sits on the site of the former Grade II Listed Grand Casino, which is being transformed by Mikhail Hotel and Leisure Group. The tower is expected to house 140 high-quality one-, two- and three-bedroom residential apartments, a restaurant, 109 five-star hotel rooms, a wedding venue, a bar and a substantial car park. Mikhail Hotel and Leisure Group says it will also be providing a health and wellbeing center for the local community that will include a state-of-the-art gym and spa, along with green space for exercise and community activities to support people with physical and mental health needs. The tower is expected to attract thousands of tourists to Southport, creating a huge number of local jobs.
