In Memoriam: Joe Seidl

Seidl

Joe Seidl, who spent more than 30 years in the elevator industry and was an employee of Salisbury, Maryland-based Delaware Elevator, Inc., passed away in December 2023 at age 73. Seidl was a proud and highly decorated military veteran, receiving the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal for his service in the Vietnam War. Many would say that Seidl was a brilliant man who understood people on a level that few can. He often threatened to retire, but was quick to extend those terms year after year. Seidl was always up for an adventure and a challenge, never hesitating to take on jobs in remote, desolate locations or pack his bag to serve as the resident mechanic on monumental projects. His outlook on life and creativity made him a man who will not be forgotten. — submitted by Delaware Elevator
