In Memoriam: Kenneth Lee Moerman

Kenneth Lee Moerman of Kalamazoo, Michigan, passed away in September at age 85. Moerman worked for Otis Elevator Co. for 43 years, starting as a mechanic and retiring as regional field operations manager. He was appointed to and served on Michigan’s Elevator Safety Board, acting as board chairman until his retirement. In the early 1990s, Moerman was appointed chairman of the National Elevator Industry, Inc. Michigan area Code Committee. An exceptionally talented handyman, Moerman treasured his family. “Although he will be deeply missed, his positive spirit, attitude, character and non-judgmental nature will remain,” his obituary read. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Donna; children, Doug, Greg and Mike; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
