In Memoriam: Mostafa Abdel Hamid El Sisy
Mostafa Abdel Hamid El Sisy, a resident of Cairo and ELEVATOR WORLD Middle East translator, passed away on January 28 at age 68. El Sisy had 42 years’ experience in the vertical-transportation industry, working for 30 years at Marryat & Scott Egypt as installation manager, then general manager. After receiving his pension, he served as Marryat & Scott lift and escalator factory manager for four-and-a-half years. El Sisy was also a registered arbitrator and expert witness at the Cairo Regional Center for International Commercial Arbitration since 1991, member of the Permanent Egyptian Committee for Lift Codes since 2007 and a consulting engineer since 2012, expert in developing specifications for other machinery and workshop equipment for the Egyptian Organization for Standards & Quality and quality manager at Nemr Consulting Engineering. El Sisy held bachelor’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Law from Ein Shams University and Cairo University, respectively. He held a Commerce and Investment diploma from the Faculty of Law at Cairo University. His survivors include wife, Eman, and children, Sarah, Nesreen, Abdel and Basma.
