In Memoriam: Ora John Curry III

Ora John Curry, III, who was an account executive for Elevator Service Co., Inc., of Torrington, Connecticut, passed away on February 2 surrounded by close family in a hospital after battling unspecified illnesses. He was 46 and a resident of Torrington. In addition to his job at Elevator Service Co., Curry was a youth counselor, coach and referee in baseball, football and basketball. In a Facebook post, Elevator Service Co. President Steven Roth described Curry as a valued team member and friend who “exuded professionalism, kindness and a lovable sense of humor.” Survivors include his parents, Ora J. Curry, Jr., and Ellen Curry; children, Ora IV and Daley Curry and their mother, Tara Curry; sister, Alison; and fiancé, Holly Myers. Services were held at St. Peter’s Church in Torrington. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ora Curry Scholarship Fund c/o TMTFCO, 777 East Main Street, Torrington, Connecticut 06790.
