In Memoriam: Richard “Rick” Wolsey

Richard “Rick” Wolsey

Richard “Rick” Wolsey, a well-known figure in the elevator industry, passed away peacefully at his home in Hamilton, Ontario, on July 15, the Canadian Elevator Contractors Association (CECA) announced. Wolsey worked for Otis, KONE, Northern Elevator, Wittur, Adams Elevator Equipment Co., Elevator Solutions and, most recently, WECO Elevator Products. Wolsey “lived and breathed the Toronto Blue Jays,” according to his obituary. He loved to chat and get to know people, especially during his years as a salesman in the elevator industry. Survivors include daughters, Chantelle and Tiffany; two grandchildren; and numerous relatives, friends and colleagues. “Our thoughts and condolences are with Rick’s family and his friends at WECO,” CECA Executive Director Catharine Bothwell said. “As Rick used to say, ‘enjoy today, yesterday is gone, tomorrow hasn’t come yet.'” Donations in Wolsey’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
