In Memoriam: Robert Bryan Moorer

Moorer

Robert Bryan “Bob” Moorer, a lifelong elevator man and resident of Moorestown, New Jersey, passed away in November 2021 at age 71, surrounded by family. Moorer began working at his father’s elevator company, The Penn City Elevator Co. of Philadelphia, during summers when he was in high school. After graduating from the University of South Carolina, Moorer worked as an elevator mechanic, became certified and eventually assumed the role of Penn City Elevator owner and president in partnership with his brother-in-law. Moorer was a member of the International Union of Elevator Constructors Local 5 in Philadelphia for 47 years. He is remembered as a great boss who was respected and well-liked. Survivors include his wife, Maureen; sons, Andrew and Craig; and sisters, Susanne, Peggy Lou and Pamela. Donations in Moorer’s name may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
