In Memoriam: William T. “Bill” Dunlevy

Dunlevy

William T. “Bill” Dunlevy, who owned and ran Turnersville, New Jersey-based William J. Dunlevy & Sons, passed away in September, The Peelle Co. announced. William J. Dunlevy & Sons has been the sales representative for Peelle in the Mid-Atlantic region for more than 44 years. Dunlevy took great pride in and loved his work. Dunlevy was involved in several noteworthy projects. The new elevator doors Dunlevy sold to Schindler for modernization of the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., were destroyed in the terrorist attacks of 9/11. Shortly after the attacks, Dunlevy received notice under the direction of President George W. Bush that Dunlevy & Sons and Peelle were obligated to replace the doors within the year. Dunlevy ensured that happened. Dunlevy’s passion for history and elevators came together when he performed engineering surveys at the National Gallery of Art, the Bureau of Printing and Engraving, the Washington Monument, the Smithsonian and the White House. Services were held in September in Haddonfield, New Jersey, where he lived for many years. Survivors include wife, Kimberly; sons, William and Dean; mother, Ann; and sisters, Mary and Deborah.
