Yuval Valiano-Rips of Israel-based elevator inspection and consulting firm Rips Elevators Group says his team of elevator safety inspectors are facing the unique and challenging task of assessing elevators in buildings damaged by rocket strikes as a result of the Israel–Hamas war — an ongoing armed conflict between Israel and Hamas-led Palestinian militant groups. In an upcoming article for ELEVATOR WORLD, Valiano-Rips will explore the critical role the team plays in ensuring public safety, the technical and emotional challenges of working in a war zone over the past 14 months and lessons learned about resilience and infrastructure durability. “By sharing our experiences, we aim to shed light on the intersection of elevator safety and crisis response, offering insights that could benefit other regions facing similar challenges,” Valiano-Rips said.
