Intern Dies in Nigeria Elevator Incident

An 18-year-old male student of the Lagos State Skills Acquisition Centre Technical School, Egan, Nigeria, died in an elevator accident at a construction site in the state’s Ikoyi area where he worked as an intern, chronicle reports. The victim was training with the company and was said to have resumed work with some of the construction workers on the day of the incident and to have remained on-site until the evening when he was last seen, according to the source. When the engineers returned the next day, they discovered a broken lift shaft. The elevator was forced open, revealing the victim inside. Police were called to the scene and the student’s body was taken to a hospital.
