Approved Lift Consultants, an independent lift, escalator, travelator and elevator audit firm, recently shared on LinkedIn about the sustainability strides of Jackson Lift Group’s Path to Net ZERO by 2030. Jackson, the U.K.’s largest lift, escalator and cradle maintenance company, is taking on the climate crisis head-on, the post says, indicating that the company has already reduced its monthly energy consumption by 21%. By 2023, Jackson is aiming for its first carbon-neutral office building — to be achieved by deploying solar photovoltaic (PV) cells, battery storage and air-source heat pumps. Additionally, the company has set a goal to convert its entire vehicle fleet to carbon-neutral by 2028 by ordering only electric commercial vehicles beyond 2024. Jackson has also focused on product sustainability, meaning installing lifts and escalators equipped with energy-efficient options. Regenerative drives, which harness a descending lift car’s gravitational force to generate power, are a core feature of Jackson’s lifts, and the company has made a commitment to energy-saving lighting in all lift installations. The company is also recycling all old workwear and exploring carbon-neutral alternatives.
