Keystone Announces VDA’s Acquisition of Sierra Consulting

Caracappa

Keystone Capital Management, L.P., recently announced its portfolio company, Hanover, New Jersey-based VDA, Inc., has acquired Sierra Consulting Group. VDA is a marketing-leading provider of vertical-transportation (VT) consulting and inspection services that has grown beyond the New York and New Jersey market to include more than 30 offices around the U.S. VDA’s specialties include elevator and escalator modernization, new construction, maintenance evaluation, mandated inspections and a variety of consulting for end markets. Sierra Consulting Group was founded in 2004 by industry veteran Joseph Caracappa. It is a full-service elevator and escalator consulting company that provides inspection witnessing, advising and project-management services to building owners and property managers throughout the NYC metropolitan area. Welcoming Caracappa and his team to VDA, Keystone Managing Director Jason Van Zant said Sierra “adds significant capability to VDA’s mandated inspection and modernization consulting capabilities.” Sierra is VDA’s first add-on acquisition since partnering with Keystone in December 2021.

Sierra President Caracappa stated:

“I want to thank everyone for all the kind words and best wishes. As part of this acquisition of Sierra Consulting, I have personally committed to our long-term growth by becoming a significant shareholder and partner in the combined business. I am looking future-forward, whereby this partnership with VDA will allow growth opportunities, more resources, financial and managerial as well as extensive elevator engineering services to our clients. This is a major step in staying pace with NYC’s changes in elevator code compliance. Sierra will remain independently operated, providing the same services as we have for the last 22 years. We will continue to operate out of our Long Island and Bronx locations, and our staff looks forward to providing the best experience for all our clients and employees. The VDA partnership will enhance Sierra’s services as Sierra continues to provide best-in-class elevator services to our clients. This alliance provides a strategic combination of talents, shared goals and future growth.”
